It'd taken him longer than he would have liked to find her again.
Back in that small town where he'd first found her, Eli had had it all planned out, how he was going to break into her house again, what he was going to say, how it was going to go down, all of it -- and she wasn't even there. He'd burst into her living room unannounced with a smug look on his face, spreading his arms in anticipation of her glares and beginning to stride through the rooms thinking she must be in the kitchen, or the bedroom, or the basement, or somewhere around here -- but she wasn't. The house was empty. She wasn't there. Ana wasn't even in the same damn town anymore. Gone, just like that. And without even telling her new enemy goodbye.
The very nerve.
And so here he was, having tracked her down to New Orleans -- interesting choice for such a lackluster woman, if you asked him -- and climbing through the second-story bathroom window to get inside her house while she was away. She really ought to get some better security for this place. Didn't she know how many criminals there were in a big city like this? Wouldn't want anyone dangerous to get in.
The vampire wasn't sure when to expect her home, but he was content to while away the time until then, snooping through her belongings and pawing through her drawers. Still, he wanted to be visible when she first stepped in her front door, so he eventually made his way down to the first floor of the house and found himself another wineglass to twirl as he awaited her arrival.
She'd humiliated him, and if nothing else, Eli Sinclair was very dedicated to getting payback.

He would be waiting for a bit.
Not for long, but seeing how the sun usually set sometime in the 5 o'clock hour, night had been around for quite a bit. And she took advantage of the early winter sunsets to begin cozying up to potential contacts around the city, and it was so much easier when she could actually impress them with a nice dinner. She didn't know the title of the woman she met with tonight, but Anastasia did know she was influential in the... well, in the not as kindly looked upon part of the doppelganger community. And such could be helpful, though it was more than obvious the woman didn't trust her. Smart for her, since vampires probably weren't the best things to put your trust into.
She had thought it had went well, even though she absolutely reeked of doppleganger, but that was a small inconvenience at best. She just couldn't stop wrinkling her nose at herself, which... well she made that face at other people all the time, so why not make it at herself sometime? Her night was ruined when she got a call from one of her smugglers -- slayers were doing something , unsurprisingly, but the smuggler thought it would be too dangerous to try to move anything into the Market tonight -- and she was lucky she was just in front of her house, because discussing anything of this nature in public probably wasn't the best idea. As soon as the front door was closed and locked behind her she replied, icily telling him that if the goods weren't in the market by sunrise, she would personally see to it that he would never see another one, and she ended that conversation on that high note.
Of course, she hadn't realized her night would be getting even worse. She stopped short when she went into her living room, staring at a scene that should have only been a memory. The only difference was that he didn't have his feet on the table, and she wasn't going to point that out. She stood there, staring, for several minutes, not exactly knowing what to do or say, and then finally she made up her mind. "I need a drink."
