Sounds a Lot Like Work [Open]

He knew he'd been sent out to New Orleans for work and he'd been fine with it until now. There was a supposed haunting in this old house in the Garden District, which wasn't overly uncommon, since old houses carried memories. This haunting, however, wasn't exactly just a memory, and The Shadow Sword thought it best to try to get rid of the problem before some wannabe human ghost hunter got themselves hurt. Granted, it may not even be a ghost. There were vampires and other such creatures that sometimes pretended to be ghosts to scare people out of homes that they used to own in order to hide, and that was the first step.
He was lucky that the house was currently unoccupied, or else standing in front of it for hours on end would look somewhat suspicious. He was sure he looked it now, but he held one of the realtor's pamphlets and tried to look like he was looking through it at some information at the house in front of him. He was lucky to have made it through the day and now that it was thoroughly dark out, he was in the clear until the sun decided to show itself again.
There was just enough of a chill in the air to make him wish he had a jacket, but that wasn't an option at the moment, so he crossed his arms in front of him and rubbed his hands against them, trying to generate any warmth he could. He should be expecting another Sword any time now; he'd called in for backup when the sun went down, wanting another pair of eyes on this house because something wasn't right to him. He hoped they brought a jacket. He figured it had to be near midnight when he heard the steps on the sidewalk, so he didn't even bother to check before reaching out and grabbing hold of their arm. "About time you got here," he said, but there wasn't any malice in his voice to suggest he was upset about the wait. "I just wanted some more eyes on this house. Something isn't right, but I want another opinion before I declare poltergeist."
