Coridan comes from a long line of sirens. His father was one, and his parents before him, and he can trace his lineage back to Greece, though it doesn't mean as much to him as it does to his parents before him. His mother died in complications to childbirth, which isn't wholly uncommon in sirens, and so he was raised by his father. At least, until his father remarried, and Coridan gained a new mother and a step-sister who was every bit as wild as he wasn't.

It's been commented on by many magical beings that he's strange for a siren. He seems to have none of the bloodlust common in his species, especially for one who's around water as much as he is because of his job, but he really doesn't understand the compliment. Or if it really is a compliment. 

He does a lot of various volunteer work around the city in his free time. He also leaves pet food on his front porch for the various strays that come around. He loves animals, but he's got a pretty serious allergy to them, which saddens him greatly.He instead has various fish in various fishtanks around his house.
